Bio
I received my bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Trinity University and am currently a PhD candidate of Marine Biology and Biological Oceanography at USC. I am broadly interested in heterotrophic marine microbial community structure. Heterotrophic microbes are largely absent from Earth System models due to an inability to effectively represent them in large scale models. My work aims to develop functional guilds or archetypes that can be used to incorporate more dynamic heterotrophy into these global scale climate prediction models.
