Bio

I am Teja, a graduate student at Cordero Lab, MIT. I have a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from BITS-Pilani (India) and master degree in Systems and synthetic biology at University of Paris (France). I am interested in the spatial influence of chitin surfaces on microbial community assembly. I am currently developing platforms that allow us to study the colonization of chitin dependent microbial communities, the community dynamics, and the spatial interactions on the chitin surface. I would like to understand the interactions between cross feeders and degraders on chitin surfaces.

Research Interests

Microbial ecology, enviornmental microbiology, high-throughput tools for biology
