Bio
I am a trained environmental scientist (B.Sc., Carl von Ossietzki Universität Oldenburg) with specialization in marine microbiology (M.Sc., Universität Bremen, MarMic IMPRS program at the Max Planck Institute for Marine Microbiology). In my PhD, I aim to characterize new marine carbohydrate active enzymes and decipher how marine heterotrophic bacteria degrade marine polysaccharides. Thus, my scientific focus lies on grasping life on a molecular level with a special emphasis on the global carbon cycle.
