Bio

I’m a biophysicist with a strong interest in bacterial interactions and emergent properties of bacterial communities. I am specialised in microbial ecology, anaerobic microbiology and have a background in gut microbiome research.

A key goal of my research is to elucidate general principles that govern the emergence of community functions and their stability upon environmental perturbations. I aim to contribute to our understanding of the factors that shape how different bacterial cells and populations interact with each other and how this determines the properties of bacterial communities as a whole.

I am passionate about creating and working in supportive, interdisciplinary and open scientific environments.
