Bio

I received my PhD in chemical engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles, where my research focused on both evolving E. coli to form new metabolic pathways and engineering E. coli for enhanced production of advanced biofuels. I am currently a Postdoc at ETH in the lab of Uwe Sauer, where I am studying how microbes interact through the exchange of metabolites and how these interactions lead to the assembly of a community. My primary research tool is mass spectrometry based metabolomics.

Research Interests

Metabolic interactions, metabolomics, community assembly
