Bio
My research interests lie in understanding the microbial drivers of carbon and nitrogen cycling in a wide range of ecosystems by combining interdisciplinary approaches including biochemical, molecular, and modeling. Integrating these methods, I am attempting to firstly define the mechanisms under which microbial communities respond and mediate biogeochemical cycling, then secondly, to provide predictive tools to quantitatively measure the functional shifts of microbial communities in a changing environment and the reverse feedback of the microbial community dynamics to the environment.
