Bio

Currently, I am a PhD student at ETH Zürich and Eawag in Microbial Systems Ecology and Systems Biology. Generally, I am interested in the relationship between species composition and functional behavior of microbial communities. Within the PriME collaboration my research focuses on the interaction between microbes in trophic cascades. Here, I try to understand whether functionally equal types can be replaced so that such replacements do not alter metabolic processes at the community level. I also study the effect that bacteria without any given function have on the functional behavior of the collective.
